Doug has a real knack of demonstrating some great routines and annoying the heck out of me !
I saw this effect performed on TV and cogs began whirring. After a barrage of emails, Doug finally gave in and let slip that he was planning to release this effect. I pretty much begged him to not sell it, but send me one anyway!
Half the deal is fine by me.
I’m the very proud owner of Big Brothers Tawdry Little Sister.
Without giving away the method all I can say is that the sales pitch is true.
The description of the effect is exactly as it reads.
What do you get for your money?
All the necessary props, manufactured to a good standard.
I’ll admit that I was not provided with any instructions in hard copy as I received mine prior to completion but Doug covered everything including the reasons why he says certain things during his patter by other means.
When you order yours, you’ll get full written instructions covering all nuances.
This is an effect that truly does live up to the definition of ‘Plays big, Packs small’, seriously; it’s a package of photographs and a blob of a blu-tack type substance.
The blu-tack is only required for stage performance of this effect. If you plan to perform this routine in walkaround, which is totally plausible the blu-tack is not necessary at all.
This effect is incredibly commercial, involves your audience and could work as an opener or closer. What the hell….! It would work anywhere in your routine.
The set up for the effect takes a matter of seconds, and the set up is simply putting the photographs onto a whiteboard or wall (not included)
Each photograph is of high quality with the revelation printed in bold text that your audience can see from a great distance.
Big Brothers Tawdry Little Sister is priced in such a manner that it puts it out of reach of the simply curious but is perfectly accessible to the working performer.
For £35 you are receiving an honest to goodness miracle.
This looks as direct as it sounds and there is certainly scope for the method to be applied elsewhere.
If this is Dougs first commercially available product, I’m urging him to not release any more as this is too good to fall into the hands of those that don’t appreciate it or wont use it.
Just a couple of words of advice, Practice and look after your set. It’ll withstand many performances but does require a little care.
I am truly privileged to be the first person to own this, it’s just a shame that everyone else will want it now. *shakes fist*" - Sean Boon, Working Mentalist
